Debre Birhan Bakery Project Launch
On December 28, 2025, RAS Global Foundation officially launched its flagship Debre Birhan Bakery Project in Debre Birhan, Ethiopia. The initiative was established to support internally displaced persons (IDPs), with a special focus on children and mothers, by promoting sustainable food security, dignity, and skill development.

Welcomed senior government officials, community leaders, partners, and 60 IDP children and their mothers. Highlights included inspiring remarks from RAS Global Founder and Executive Director Konjit Birhanu, a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by H.E. Gedion Timothewos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, and a guided tour of the bakery facility.

Today,
The bakery is currently feeding over 1,000 children and mothers, providing daily nourishment while creating long-term opportunities for community resilience.
A deeply moving moment of the day was the symbolic serving of the bakery’s first batch of freshly baked bread and juice to the children, personally served by dignitaries and guests—reflecting humility, compassion, and solidarity.
